Environmental portrait photography | Eric Schmidt
The environmental portrait photography shoot for Eric was challenging because a few hours after flying in to South Africa, he was heading off to a project up north. The shoot had to happen that morning.
One of the great things about what I do is meeting and photographing people from all walks of life and from all over the world. Eric’s portrait was no different – the company he works for, Wildlife Protection Solutions in Canada, is involved in engineering technology solutions to help the boots-on-the-ground rangers protecting rhinos and other endangered wildlife.
The brief from Imagination publishing out of Chicago, was to photograph him during a very brief stopover in South Africa on the way to one of Wildlife Protection Solutions’ projects. The location had to have the feel of the African bush so we had to find a location that was convenient for him and that provided for that African Bush feel.
If I had to pick a bad time of day it would be mid morning – you guessed it, the only time we had was a 2 hour period from about 10am :-)
Here are few pictures from the shoot.
